We are excited to announce our ambitious project to establish Charleston’s Inflatable Digital Dome Theater Planetarium! This resource will not only serve as a beacon of astronomical knowledge but also provide our community with immersive educational experiences and a unique cultural attraction.
CURRENT NEEDS: We currently need chairs with headrests. Ideally, 40 chairs that will all fit in the dome and do not have to be bolted to the floor. Most auditorium-style chairs with headrests require bolts. So we either need to find or have donated chairs that do not require bolts, or a constructed flooring setup that would allow us to bolt chairs temporarily. Another option is the creation of a false floor to bolt chairs to. We also need interactive exhibits.
Current donations support day-to-day operations, including payroll, gift shop merchandise, and recent repairs and improvements to the planetarium space.
